At every event I attend, I inevitably get asked the same question. “How did you go about getting published.” Or some similar variation of that. The other day in Starbucks, the Barista asked what I did for a living. As I proceeded to tell her about our book and tour, she politely smiled, but her eyes glazed over. However, as I went back to my comfy chair in the corner, a patron stopped me. “Excuse me,” she said, “But I couldn’t help but overhear that you’re an author. How did you go about getting published?” Then it hit me. Aspiring writers want to know! Of course, one can’t give them a complete assessment on how to go about getting published in a Starbucks or at a Renaissance Festival. I have wanted to put together a free conference call for writers about this very topic, but I found that I didn’t have the time to organize all my thoughts. So. I’m finding the time. I blog every day anyway, so for the next two weeks I’ll blog (almost exclusively) about the different options a writer has to get his/her book published and the pros/cons of each. At the end, I will turn these into the conference call/podcast/eBook about the subject. Deal? So – come back every day for the next two weeks, and learn about the best way for YOU to get your book “out there.” Series Index (all links will not be live until series is complete on 10/11):

Hi Christine! For those who are jumping into your series, especially from Twitter, is there a chapter index?

That’s a great idea, Simon. I’ll update this page with a chapter index.

Great idea, Christine! You should check your chapter links, though — several of them seem to currently link to your Wordpress admin page instead of the content pages.

[...] 10.14.09 I’m blogging today over on Chicks Over 40. See Kindle Boosts Self-Publishing, based on what I found on twitter today. Very interesting way to look at publishing – especially for those of us who may not have as much time as others to pursue that publishing dream. And when considering your publishing choices, don’t forget to tune into Publishing Choices. [...] Post a comment
